Village Architecture

Village Architecture

Ogbourne Maizey Manor

The three villages contain some buildings of significant architectural interest. Ranging from the grandeur of Rockley and Maizey Manors to the humble thatched cottages of the estate workers, the villages have retained a large number of authentic architectural gems.

The parish council has been keen to preserve the architectural values of the villages and, to this end, a “Village Design Statement” (VDS) which identifies characteristic architectural design elements which define the built environment of the villages. Here are some of the images from the VDS.

You can view the whole VDS by clicking here

Some hard copies of the VDS may still be available from the clerk to the parish council.
