I have lived in the parish for 26 years, Chris and I moved here from Calne as I was looking for somewhere convenient to keep my two horses, which sadly are no more. It is a wonderful area for riding, but the byways are also too popular with motorized vehicles, which can occasionally cause problems. Chris and I are both incomers to Wiltshire, having been born in the Midlands, but we much prefer country living. We came to Wiltshire via RAF Lyneham; I was working for the MMB at the time; another national institute which has been closed down. I spent many years preparing agricultural accounts, mainly for large, complex farming businesses.
Later I moved on to being an administrator in a local nursing home, where I met lots of interesting people, either as residents or their relatives, as well as all the lovely staff I worked with.
Since retiring, I have kept myself busy with my pets, currently my companions are Flora, the black lab and Tigger, the tabby cat, who I have found out is a bit of a wanderer. I also enjoy my garden and I am a trustee for FOSH, Friends of Savernake Hospital as well as being a volunteer in the hospital shop.
