Suggestions Please !

We need suggestions on how to spend money!

A solar power generating plant on Wroughton Airfield is making grants available to parishes local to the solar park. Grants of up to £2000 are available to support any community scheme and up to £20,000 to support educational projects of a scientific nature.

Working with Ogbourne School, we intend to bid for the large grant to fund a green energy project in the school. But we would also like to bid for a grant of £2000 to support a project in the parish. One suggestion is to enhance the nature reserve behind Wetpits to provide a better area to support diversity of flora and fauna, whilst retaining the opportunities for adventurous play currently afforded by the area.

But do you have any other suggestions??? If so, please contact John Hetherington by the end of August on john@teamhetherington.co.uk.

The Old Willow Tree

You will have noticed that the lovely old willow tree near the bridge had to be cut down after a terrible storm because it split and fell across the river bed. It was actually pollarded and is already sprouting new growth !

You will also have noticed that there is now a pile of logs and chippings sitting there. Sharon has kindly said that anyone is welcome to help themselves to some logs and also the chippings if you have a constructive use for them.
